Published by Fisher Unwin, London. Thick octavo, 336 pages, illustrated with map and 51 plates. Some wear to the striking pictorial red themed cover, bumps etc. Internally some foxing especially near ends – still a handy copy of this desired edition and priced accordingly.

Outlaws of the Leopolds – Ion Idriess

One of the more difficult to find Idriess books – about Sandamara, also known as Pigeon, a native tracker who set about to drive out the white settlers from the Kimberley’s and King Leopold Range in northern Western Australia.

Published by Angus and Robertson in 1955. Tall octavo, 244 pages, nicely illustrated from period photographs, end paper maps, very good dust jacket. Overall, a very good and worthy copy.

White Blackfellows – Charles Barrett

Published in 1948 by Hallcraft, Melbourne. Octavo, 261 pages, well illustrated. A very good copy in a nice albeit chipped dust jacket.

We recognise that the title of the book is unacceptable. Accept the book though for the history within. Sixteen different histories from all over Australia. Many of these have inspired other works – Patrick White etc. And, quite a few appear in longer form within the Voyager collection – but in no other place do we have a balanced presentation of so many.
