Early Scientific Engraving – A System of Chemistry – Rennolds -1788

Short Description

A fine hand coloured engraving of various items of chemical apparatus some in fiery use. Engraved by Rennolds and published by Alexander Hogg at the Kings Arms No 16 Paternoster Row, London in 1788. This was the same period in which Hogg was publishing Cook’s Voyages.

Included in the Royal Cyclopaedia and is one of the best early engravings depicting scientific apparatus. 35cm by 20 cm to the border of the engraved area with wide margins.
