Hobart – Eight Etchings in Facsimile

Short Description

A scarce little landscape booklet issued by Walch & Sons, Hobart in 1932.

With a forward by L. Dechaineux of the Technical College, Hobart a man clearly impressed with the engravers art, or as he put it … “the joy felt by the artists in the expression by needle and acid of the beauties, architectural and scenic”

Eight tipped in plates from works by Charles Robinson and Harold Byrne, with brief description opposite … Government House; Parliament House; Customs House; Hobart from the Harbour; Trinity Church; Sailors Rest (Salamanca Place); Winter in Franklin Square and Prison Gates … we would say more interesting choices than most other publications of this type.

A really delightful and hard to come by item of Hobart ephemera.

Hobart a special place for an etching
